How to care for a dog collar and leash.

Regular, gentle care helps handcrafted pieces stay beautiful for longer. The specific instructions for the product's actual material always take priority.

Careful cleaning of a handcrafted dog collar
01

After a walk

Do not ignore moisture and dirt.

Remove loose dirt promptly with a soft cloth. Let damp collars and leashes dry open and well ventilated at room temperature. Direct heat, hairdryers and strong sunlight can place unnecessary stress on materials.

Cleaning

Work gently and follow material guidance.

Begin with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Aggressive cleaners, bleach, hard brushes and unverified care products are not sensible defaults. For heavier soiling, follow the model-specific instructions.

  • Do not soak unless explicitly permitted
  • No washing machine without approval
  • Test care products in an inconspicuous area
  • Allow to dry fully before use
03

Safety check

Inspect seams, closures and rings.

Check the entire piece for tears, open seams, deformation or unusually heavy wear. Ensure closures work cleanly and rings remain unchanged. Do not continue using a visibly damaged product until it has been professionally assessed.

Storage

Dry, ventilated and without tension.

Store the collar and leash clean and fully dry. Hang heavier pieces so the material is not permanently folded or stretched.
